The emphasis in this class is on organic gardening methods, but I will take this opportunity to provide an overview of Permaculture principles.

Permaculture is about using natural ecosystems as a model for human-created systems. In this context it becomes an invaluable tool for assessing the usefulness of gardening techniques and garden designs.

A garden designed along Permaculture guidelines will produce food more reliably, with less overall labour and energy input, while at the same time contributing to enhancing the garden site to the benefit of all, by increasing biodiversity, beauty and resilience.

The course is conducted near Cahersiveen in County Kerry. For part of this class you will be outside and active.
